South African Accessible Safari – 10 Nights and 11 Day

DAY 1 - Welcome at airport and transfer


A warm welcome awaits you at the airport, followed by a transfer to your hotel in Umhlanga, near the warm Indian Ocean. Accommodation: 4 star hotel in Durban with Breakfast (15 minute drive)




DAY 2 - Durban City, African Markets and Ushakamarine World


Spend the day in Durban Central at Ushaka Marine World with its African markets, restaurants and beautiful beaches with accessible beach wheelchairs and mats. Attractions include shark feeding, turtle, dolphin, penguin, and seal shows, along with snorkeling ponds hosting over 5000 fish. Accessible snorkeling is available.

DAY 3 - Head to Safari Region - Elephant Coast and Hluhluwe


Head to the great African safari at the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, which includes the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, South Africa's second largest Big Five Game Reserve. Leopard Walk Lodge is set in a beautiful forest surrounded by nature and wildlife. Afternoon at leisure at your lodge with abundant birds and wildlife. Your glass walled lodge retreat includes own private outdoor Jacuzzi.

DAY 4 and 5 - Game Drives


Experience extended game drives in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Spot and identify various bird species and abundant animal life such as Black Rhino, Nyala, Kudu, Hippo and more. You may even see lion, cheetah, wild dog and other predators. Departure times arranged as suitable for day game drives, Gates close at 6pm.

DAY 6 - Elephant Interaction


A unique and wonderful experience in the heart of Zululand where you get close and interact with these powerful and gentle creatures. Guests are also afforded an opportunity of close contact with 2 mature elephants that were orphaned and hand reared but free to range in a private game reserve that is 2500 hectares. There two elephants come up to visit the viewing are each morning with a welcome snack of game pellets. Here you will be able to interact with them in well controlled situation and also enjoy suburb interpretation of the elephant species.


Lunch at Ngweini Restaurant with its Zulu Cultural Museum and Traditional Zulu Basket weaving markets.


Afternoon at leisure at lodge.

DAY 7 - St Lucia, Boat Cruise and Cape Vidal Game Reserve


Morning - Visit Cat and Cheetah Rehabilitation Centre


Learn more about South Africa's endangered wild cat species. Be mesmerized by the beauty of the Caracal (Lynx), enchanted by the playful Serval, astonished by the speed and agility of the Cheetah and delighted by the African Wildcat. View and photograph these amazing animals at the centre. The aim of this park is to care for cats who have been orphaned or injured in the wild and are in need of care and rehabilitation.


We head to St Lucia, a picturesque village situated within a nature reserve and which is surrounded by 5 distinct ecosystems and iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Lunch at one of the numerous restaurants in the village.


Afternoon safari boat trip on accessible boat with sightings of hippos, crocodiles and birds in the estuary.


Dinner at leisure at one of the restaurants in village.

DAY 8 & 9 - St Lucia, African Markets, Boat Cruise, Cape Vidal Game Reserve and Accessible Beach


  • Explore local markets and wild beaches.

  • Safari at Cape Vidal Game Reserve, with Rhino, Waterbuck, Kudu and many other species of wildlife. Cape Vidal is part of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site incorporating beautiful game reserves and wild beaches. With luck you will spot hippos (who are nocturnal mammals) grazing at night in the village gardens.

  • Adventures include a visit to a Traditional Zulu Village where you will learn of the African Zulu Tribe as you visit its cultural village. Be spellbound bu the energetic Zulu dancing with its awesome rhythm of drumbeats and African dancing.

  • Access the wild beach at Cape Vidal with beach wheelchairs

  • Visit to Crocodile Sanctuary with a museum of Isimangaliso Wetland Park

DAY 10


Return to Durban and Umhlanga Hotel. Relax in afternoon with beaches, restaurants and shopping at hotel doorstep.
