• Playa del Inglés (100m away): This famous beach features specific entry points for wheelchair users. Look for the wooden walkways and "plates" that allow you to roll over the sand. It also offers accessible showers and amphibious wheelchairs (available via lifeguards) so you can enjoy the ocean safely.

• Maspalomas Beach & Dunes: Located just down the coast, this beach is world-renowned for its Saharan-sized dunes. While the dunes themselves are difficult to navigate, the Maspalomas Promenade is completely flat and offers incredible views of the landscape. The beach area also provides amphibious chairs and lifeguard assistance.

Scenic Promenades

• Paseo Marítimo: This long, flat coastal promenade runs right past Playa del Inglés. It has been recently renovated with smooth paving specifically for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, allowing you to roll for kilometers while enjoying the sea breeze, cafes, and shops.

• Maspalomas Lighthouse (El Faro): A 10-minute taxi ride away, the area around the historic lighthouse is beautifully paved and entirely step-free, leading into a high-end shopping and dining district.

• Holiday World Maspalomas: This entertainment center is largely accessible and features a smooth, level layout. It’s a great spot for evening fun, including an accessible bowling alley and various international food stalls.

• Palmitos Park: A bit further inland (accessible via adapted taxi), this botanical garden and aviary is mostly wheelchair-friendly with paved paths, though some sections are steep. The dolphin and bird shows have dedicated accessible seating areas.

• Aqualand Maspalomas: The largest waterpark on the island is equipped with ramps and a pool hoist, making it a surprisingly inclusive family day out.

• Sioux City Park: For something unique, this Wild West theme park (originally a movie set) is mostly flat and offers an "authentic" western experience that is manageable for wheelchair users.

Accessible Sea Tours

• Dolphin & Whale Watching: Many catamarans departing from nearby Puerto Rico (about 15–20 mins away) are custom-built for accessibility. The Afrikat and certain dolphin-search catamarans feature level boarding and accessible bathrooms, allowing you to experience the Atlantic comfortably.

Practical Mobility Tips:

• Public Buses (Global): Almost all bright turquoise public buses in Gran Canaria are fitted with ramps and dedicated wheelchair spaces.

• Adapted Taxis: "Eurotaxis" with rear-entry ramps are common in Playa del Inglés. You can ask the hotel reception to call one specifically for you.

• Smoother Paths: When moving through the shopping centers (like the Yumbo or Kasbah), stick to the main entrances which usually have ramps, as some of the older internal staircases can be tricky.
